Rackla Metals
Mining & Exploration
2025
A cinematic short created for Rackla Metals, capturing the raw spirit of mineral exploration in the Yukon. The film follows a team of geologists as they navigate remote terrain in search of gold, highlighting the intersection of industry and wilderness.
Rackla Metals wanted a film that could elevate mineral exploration beyond its industrial image, capturing the human spirit of discovery rather than simply documenting fieldwork. The challenge lay in transforming a technical process into a cinematic narrative that reflected both the magnitude of the Northern Canadian landscape and the quiet determination of those working within it.

The Approach
Create a landscape-driven character study, letting the Yukon guide the tone and visuals. Using a mix of aerials, handheld moments, and natural light, I focused on the real rhythms of fieldwork: helicopter drops, rugged terrain, quiet pauses, and discovery. The result is a film that feels immersive, grounded, and true to Rackla’s connection with the land.
